Poetry

Rob Mclennan reviews Glossolalia, the new poetry collection by Victoria, B.C.-based writer Marita Dachsel. "Most poems written out of biographical/historical materials are painstakingly dull, doing little to add to what is already known," Mclennan writes on his personal blog. "[B]ut Dachsel manages to bring a life to the material, a fine and sparkling energy."

In a different post on the Above/Ground Press blog, Mclennan announces the publication of new works by Dutch poets Hélène Gelèns and Erik Lindner,

Young Adult Novels

Kathy from A Glass of Wine gives two thumbs up to Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza which was released on March 12.  The 480-page novel is the first volume in a science-fiction thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.

Kelsey's Cluttered Bookshelf reviews Pretty Girl-13 by Liz Coley, set to be released on March 19.  The book tells the story of Angie Chapman, a thirteen-year-old girl who ventures off to the woods, only to find out when she returns home that three years have passed, leading her to piece together what happened.

Pinwing's Bookshelf has only positive things to say about Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway, a story about a teenage girl whose life is turned upside down after a former boyfriend writes a song about her that becomes a massive hit.  Finally, Rachel, the new teen blogger at the Ottawa Public Library, has some suggestions on what books to read.
